What do you get in a Training?

INITIAL TRAININGS  INCLUDE an introduction to the following Fairview components, accompanying teaching strategies, and assessments :

  • Adapted Dolch Word lists
  • The Bridging Process and Reading Comprehension
  • Phonemic Awareness
  • Literature-Based Instruction
  • ASL Development and Spontaneous Written English

PLUS THE USE OF THE ONLINE ASSESSMENT SITE FOR FREE FOR THE CONCURRENT SCHOOL YEAR IF all 5 Fairview components are implemented.

FAIRVIEW 2-POINT TRAININGS are tailor made for  individual program sites.  They provide opportunities to train new personnel, answer questions from those individuals who have already received training, and refine and examine feedback from the progress checks.  Classroom demonstrations or classroom visits with teachers and students are highly recommended with additional consulting days to ensure successful implementation. Suggested topics to target include scheduling, staff management, classroom demonstrations, progress checks and procedures, implementation techniques, and brainstorming sessions.

FAIRVIEW 2-POINT TRAININGS INCLUDE:

  • Review of components covered in initial training with emphasis on components only briefly covered initially.
  • Extensive implementation strategies review – by this time most teachers have specific questions regarding classroom implementation and progress documentation.  The trainings provide the opportunity for teachers to have their questions answered and to see more hands-on demonstrations.
  • On site classroom demonstrations and troubleshooting (with participating students & teachers) or an in-service group session (with participating teachers) are highly recommended.

In summary, the Fairview 2-Point Trainings provide users of the Fairview Learning program opportunities to refine program implementation and progress checks.
